Our Mission
Marin Jazz’s Future Stars’ mission is to nurture and inspire children and communities by connecting us all with the Performing Arts. We deliver artistic programs that work towards unlocking creative thinking, building confidence, and providing a safe space to explore and nurture the talents and skills of today’s youth.
Community
We brought Marin Jazz alive to not only provide a place where the community can come together to experience live music and performances together but to build more education programs for our youth. We engage audiences by offering them well thought out and inspiring shows. We promote inclusion across ethnic, economic and geographic barriers providing scholarships when needed; as we never turn a kid down.

Youth Participation
We want our youth to experience the performing arts in a gentle, nurturing, and non-threatening environment, while still engaging with the professionalism and artistry that theater demands. Our after-school program emphasizes respect for one another, collaboration, and the shared achievement of bringing a production to life—an experience we hope will leave a meaningful and lasting impression on both the students and their audiences.
Students learn by doing: participating in rehearsals, exploring character work, and practicing both basic and more advanced performance techniques. Through guided instruction and hands-on creative exploration, they gain confidence, communication skills, and an appreciation for the discipline of the arts.
Research and experience show that young people who engage in the performing arts—whether music, theatre, or dance—develop a deeper awareness of their emotions, a stronger ability to express themselves, and a resilient set of tools that support them as they navigate challenges later in life. Our program strives to cultivate these lifelong benefits while inspiring a genuine love for the arts.
Education
We believe that education is one of the most important building
blocks for children and are committed to broadening and expanding learning opportunities through the delivery of the performing arts. Our programs are intended to encourage creative collaboration, dialogue, and inclusiveness to young people as well as the entire community. Our students work together with our teachers to create their shows encouraging them to assist in all forms of the production from writing, music choices, to staging and lighting.
Our educational programs range from music and theatre classes to full-fledged productions throughout Marin County. We carefully design our year-round shows to include dynamic and relevant productions.
Our Future Stars Program are currently held at 3 elementary schools in San Rafael - Glenwood, Lucas Valley and Vallecito. And Lynwood elementary in Novato.
